In 1965 the first PizzaExpress opened in SOHO, London with an oven that was brought all the way from Rome along with pizzaiolo, Gianni Giochi to operate it. Coincidentally, in 2001 Hong Kong's first PizzaExpress restaurant opened its doors in Central's SOHO district. Six years later and still wowing Hong Kong diners, the gospel of authentic Italian pizza has spread further with branches sprouting in Taikoo Shing, Wanchai, TST and most recently in Stanley.
